Leonel Fleuriste

“[Being a farmer] means a lot for me because it’s what my father did, and it is what I do to help my family”, says 38-year-old Leonel Fleuriste. The dad of three—who grows peanuts, beans, corn, sugar cane, and other crops—says that he dreams his kids will complete their schooling, find good jobs, and have a “better life”. The fact that Lavi Spicy Peanut Butter is being exported feels meaningful to him. “It’s a big thing for us in the community that our peanuts are used to make peanut butter that is being sold in the U.S.”, he says.
